Mobiles under water

I am a single Mum working part time and to date I am not having much luck with home Telephones & Mobile Phones.  I recently went overseas on a Business trip to Singapore.  I work for a company that teaches people on Search Engine Marketing, and the company SMX leads the way in this field globally.

Me and my new mobile phone that did not work

Whilst I was in Singapore I thought I would save my self some money by not having my Australian mobile phone on Global roaming.  So I thought no problem I will buy a SingTel Prepaid card for the week.  Well firstly the Prepaid card did not want to work in my 3 phone, so I then went into SingTel and brought a cheap Nokia Mobile for SG$99.00 and paid another SG$10 for a Prepaid Sim card.   All good.  I then went over to Suntec Convention Centre where we were setting up the SMX conference and tried to locate my boss and call him, well the phone worked except I could not hear any one.  So that night I went back to my hotel room and went over the Nokia Guide…I discovered my new Mobile phone speaker was not working and the only way to use the “New Mobile” phone over the next 2 very long days was to plug in the ear piece.

2 Days later and after our conference I go back to the shop and discover Singapore has a new Retail Policy for all Retail Shops that they are not responsible and do not give refunds or can exchange items….Basically Bad Luck.

So I go to Nokia Service Centre in Singapore and they agree to fix the speaker in the brand new phone.  Only problem I have a plane to catch in 5 hours.  Nokia assured me that they will rush the job through and I can pick up my fixed Mobile on the way to the Airport.

I phone Nokia Service Center from my Hotel and they can’t find my Mobile and they can’t seem to locate the Service Center allocated Service Number…..so after firm words to the girl at Nokia service centre they finally find it, & Advise me it’s still not ready, so they inform me they will send it back to Australia.

On arriving home first night back I plug in my 3 Mobile phone and wake the next morning to find the Hot water system had been dripping all night on to my 3 Mobile phone, so I try and give my mobile phone some form of mouth to mouth – and try to dry it.  It is now doing very quirky things and keeps turning it self off, and the buttons on the mobile are now doing the opposite of what there meant to. Such bad luck.

On top of that my 2 home phones from Telstra are also not working, and not re-charging.  Hopefully soon my luck will change and the Mobile Phone fairies will sprinkle some magic my way.

Winning the Sony Ericsson C902 phone giveaway can only change my luck >>>
