Twitter is a online Social Media tool that will help you with all your online Social Networking.

Twitter allows you to communicate in only 140 words, and is a way of communicating to your audience/friends to talk about what ever you need to, from personal to topical discussions.  It is great for any online Business and will help with your PR. If have a Facebook account and a Twitter account  they will feed into each other. I will explain later.

  1. Firstly you need a Twitter Account: – Go here and Sign up https://twitter.com/signup

Gloassary of Terms

Tweet: A post to Twitter – text only, 140 characters maximum (including spaces).

@ Replies.

Direct (private) messages, sometimes abbreviated to “DM.”

* Your “friends” are the people who you follow (get updates from). Twitter lists this in your profile as your “following” statistic, but “friends” is the more commonly used term.

* Your “followers” (a.k.a. your “posse,” “tweeps,” or “tweeple”) are the people who have chosen to see your tweets.

Be Notified when your Metioned

Get email alerts whenever somebody tweets about something you’re interested in. It is actually allot like Google Alerts, except for Twitter. Want to be notified if anybody mentions your name, your city or your website on Twitter? Set up a TweetBeep.

#Hashtags (www.hashtags.org) or Follow on Twubs (http://twubs.com/)

Hastags are great to follow if you are at a conference and everyone is following and discussing within the one Twitter track. You can follow what every body is expressing during the conference.

Simply click on Twubs and enter the #Tag you if you want to follow any Twitter Hashtags
